Marty and Moog from Mighty Car Mods travel to Japan to pick up a new car to road trip around the country, exploring the nature of the back roads, the twists of local tracks and of course the snacks along the way.. Having worked with Mighty Car Mods for many years, we headed back to Japan to create this feature documentary in the Mei prefecture. We aimed to create a real life documentary style video with this film capturing the true struggles of getting the car working along the way, as well as maximising the locations we found on our journey for cinematic footage to make the visuals stand out with a minimal crew.

Mighty Car Mods is an Australian automotive YouTube channel started nearly 20 years ago, who have reached 4 million subscribers on YouTube. Over the years I’ve been lucky enough to travel to many countries creating YouTube features including New Zealand, Japan, Malaysia, China, Germany, Italy and Slovenia.
